In this module we will unpack current movement guidelines and pregnancy research. You will analyse these findings and understand how this shapes our choices and approach to prenatal teaching. We’ll discuss maintaining scope, common conditions you may encounter and more.

This module is where we begin to see the anatomy in motion. You will understand and physiological changes in each trimester and how to manage this. Importantly, we will demystify the core and pelvic floor and teach you how to correctly cue, modify exercises and program for safe and effective abdominal strengthening. We will also emphasise the science of pelvic strengthening, implementing force closure principles and showing you how to teach this seamlessly.

From exercise substitutions to full class programs, this module will equip you with an abundance of practical skills to utilise every time you teach.
You’ll be armed with a bounty of exercises modifications and substitutions for every situation and trimester and be adept at selecting intelligent exercises for your client.
Learn how to create to full class plans from privates to mixed groups with ease and expertise. -
The magical fourth trimester! This module focuses on return to movement and implementing Pilates to assist with recovery.

Your Teacher
Your teacher and guide for this course, Victoria, is a highly experienced and comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor who teaches pre and post natal bodies on a daily basis.
Her studio, Vicalates, is well known for their skilful and caring approach and inclusion of pregnancy in Pilates classes. She is incredibly passionate about postpartum care and assisting mothers to return to their Pilates practise as quickly and effectively as possible. Her scope of practice extends across group classes, private clients and virtual teaching.
Victoria is an authentic and energetic teacher, who will impart her knowledge generously to help you feel empowered, educated and excited to embrace Pilates for the pre and post natal seasons.

While being a qualified instructor is not required to undertake this course, this is not a teacher training certification and is designed to build upon your existing mat/Reformer certification.
Do I need a equipment to complete this course?
No! While we will refer to props and work with apparatus, you do not need equipment to successfully complete any of the modules.
